I didn't have to sign anything for me or my children.

I'm glad I had the jab now - we found out last week that one of my Father in Law's colleagues who is otherwise young, fit and healthy is in hospital with the swine flu - scary.Scared

My husband is having his jab today and the children and I go back for our top ups next week.

Hi Jean, we didn't have to sign anything. Me and Mike had ours and both felt a bit off colour, for a couple of days, but are ok now. Sorry about your cat.

Hi Jean,

I had both seasonal & swine flu jabs last week - same day, one on each arm. Didn't have to sign any forms. Have to go back for booster coz of the mtx. No side effects, apart from I felt like someone had punched me all night on my arms! Smile

Hope it goes OK for you.

Alisa.

Hello all.

I'm going for my swine flu jab on the 16th. Nothing has been said about doing it in 2 stages even though I am on Sulfasalazine and MTX. Should I be having it in 2 stages? Thanks.

Jenniet. Confused

Yes, Jenniet - it's something to do with building up antibodies and mtx!! I have to go back on the 4th January for my second jab.

I rang the surgery yesterday but was told that, although a priority group, I am too old - over 65! I come lower down the list!!
Lets hope I don't catch it in the interimConfused

Hi Richard if you or someone close has RA or similar that means you are prioirity now. I had similar experience despite having RA, taking DMARDs, in healthcare employment and main carer for someone with chronic heart, kidney disease and renal failure i was told i had to wait, few phone calls, emails later received big apology from surgery re: misinformation.... and i was booked straight in, so if you qualify now you shouldnt have to wait...

I chased the same thing last week, and was told by the receptionist that I wasn't on the list. I told her that I WAS a priority, and please would she re-check with the Doctors. I had to get very firm with her, as she tried to tell me the list wouldn't be changed.

I am getting the intection next tuesday!

Richard - I'm sorry but you ARE a priority - you have a compromised immune system. I was offered the jab and am 66. Don't be put off.

Hi Jean :)
I didn't have to sign anything for mine. I was at the doctors anyway and they gave me an appointment.
If you're immunosuppressed you have to have two, with a two week gap in between.
I've had my first one and the next is on monday. I'm afraid to say my side affects weren't too nice:/
I woke up the following day feeling ill, with a lump the size of a golf-ball on my arm, soreness and swelling which lasted atleast 5 days before it started to go down. Apparently it's normal, but i only found that out because my dad is a GP. the nurse only told me that it may be a bit sore for a day or two!
don't want to scare you at all, just so your aware and don't panic! not really looking forward to the next:(

Love Hannah

Hi Lovely Hannah!

It's so nice to hear from you again - if you've posted elsewhere I'm sure I'll catch up with all your news.

I had my first injection last night and haven't had a problem - although my other half hasn't been able to move his arm today (sad!) Sorry you had such a horrid reaction.

Are you still in the middle of exams or are they over now? And, more importantly, how are you? If you have told us on another thread, don't bother to post another reply - I'll have a look through the forums.

If you are not on again before Christmas, hope you have a painfree and very happy Christmas.

Take care

Much love

Jeanxx

Dear Jean

sorry to hear the news about your cat. It's so difficult having to say goodbye to a dear friend. I still remember when we had to have our first ever rabbit put to sleep. he was suchna special little guy.

Much love

I went for mine today and didn't have to sign anything. Nor have I got to go back in two weeks for a booster - and I did ask!

Jean, did you get my email?
